L. Jane Irvine Williams was a graduate of Monmouth College in Illinois. She joined the WAVES as an enlisted rate in 1944 and trained at Hunter College. She was a pharmacist's mate at San Diego Naval Hospital, then trained in rehabilitation of hearing impaired, and was assigned to Philadelphia Naval Hospital.
